Antique Style Pepper Mill and Salt Shaker Set in Cherry Burl
This antique-style peppermill mechanism is a wonderful working handmade peppermill. It makes for great conversation around the dinner table. It features cast metal working parts with bronzed housing. Peppermill size: 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ x 8″ tall; Salt Shaker size: 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ x 4″. This peppermill has one of the best range of grinds in any peppermill mechanism I have assembled. See additional photos of fine to coarse grind and everything in between.
The peppermill grinder is fully adjustable from fine to coarse with the top flat nut. The matching salt shaker features a stainless steel shaker cap and a rubber bung on the bottom for easy fill. I harvest this cherry burl locally in Northeastern PA and chose to feature what was the bark inclusion on the front of this peppermill. I first removed the bark and manipulated the inclusion with my signature inlay of adding copper and a few peppercorns. It gives the piece a visual focal point outside the cool-looking antique grinder mechanism. I personally guarantee your satisfaction with this set. To maintain the beautiful high gloss finish on these mills I recommend an automotive-style paste wax with carnauba. The wax not only cleans but protects. (Please note: This antique-style peppermill should not be used to grind salt.) The mill/shaker set you see in the photo is the set you will receive.
