I recently discovered you via YouTube and bought a couple of your DVDs. It probably took me a month before I made the purchase. Glad I did!

Thank you! for taking the time and effort to produce such great videos to help us achieve high end results.

Wow, you have this down to a science. I think I read, or one of your videos mentioned, you’ve accomplished this since 1998? You’re a brilliant man!

As I can see from what the other viewers have said, you are a great teacher. Watching your videos are like a book you just can’t put down.

I really like your presentation style, voice, and time to explain the details. Your tone of voice gives me comfort that I can learn this. Not a rote education, but meaningful. You present like a great mentor.

I am a novice wood turner facing age 70 soon, looking to raise my skill level with finishing. I like to think my brain is still a little pliable. I am learning a lot with your videos, and about lathe tools that can improve my finish. I never heard of a finesse scraper before. But, I am a novice turner, apart from the dance floor. ? I’ll probably buy your finesse scrapers.

Your video presents attention to the details and closely examining each stage. Almost scientific, yet a human touch to it. Such as cleaning the sanding dust from the previous grit.

Not overusing sandpaper makes a lot of sense. To get a good foundation, don’t cheap out on the sandpaper to get more mileage from it. That would seem to result in less quality in the finish. Unfortunately, in the past, I’m guilty of that and was left wondering why my results were not as good as I expected. A good foundation is critical to a great finish.

In this I learned a lot about the foundation of a good sanding before applying the finish, and the stages after that.

How to find imperfections and correct them.

    Thanks!! Gary
