Inlaying with real peppercorns is stable, but inlaying with real sea salt is flawed. Real salt inlay will interact negatively with your finish and will produce continual condensation on the surface. These faux salt crystals are 100% plastic and look like real salt when inlaid with medium thick CA glue.

Quick tip #1: Allow the glued-up inlay to dry for several days before cutting away excess salt inlay.
Quick tip #2: When sanding, polishing, waxing or buffing, use slow speeds to prevent distorting the inlay.
