Antique Style Coffee Grinder in Cherry Burl with Coffee Inlay

Antique Style Coffee Mill in Cherry Burl with Inlay

Sure, it’s a handmade antique coffee grinder. But after a second look, you realize there is an inlay of coffee beans in a bed of copper in the cherry burl.  How cool is that!

This handmade antique style coffee grinder mechanism features a 2:1 grind ratio so that means for every 2 turns of the handle the ceramic grinder turns once. This gives you the leverage for an easy grind. Just like its close cousin, the antique style peppermill, this coffee grinder is a charming addition to any country kitchen. It’s functional as well as artistic.

It features cast metal working parts with bronzed housing and a burr-type grinder. Overall grinder size is 6″ x 4 1/4″ x 10″ tall. This coffee grinder has a nice range of grinds and will provide a coarse to an almost Turkish-like fine grind.  The grinder is fully adjustable from fine to coarse with the top hexagon nut. I harvested the cherry wood locally and chose to feature this great piece of burl because of the interesting bark inclusion. I manipulated the inclusion with my signature inlay. It gives the piece a visual focal point outside the cool-looking coffee grinder mechanism I personally guarantee your satisfaction. To maintain the beautiful high gloss finish on this grinder I recommend an automotive-style paste wax with carnauba.  The wax not only cleans but protects. (Please note: This antique-style coffee grinder can also be used to grind peppercorns or other spices but it should not be used to grind salt.)
